History of Moshi Town, Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
The Germans came to Tanzania in the late 1880s and set up plantation on the base of the Kilimanjaro and Meru mountains. This helped the town crow very fast and by the arrival of the British in 1920s, the town was really big and the British just continued from where the Germans had stopped.
In 1893, the Germans that had settled here built and army babes in Moshi and its one of the site you can visit while here.
The British took over from the Germans after the world war. They colonized the country till independence in 1961. Most is filled with a lot of old fashioned architectural building that were built during the German and Colonial times. Many of these builds now host hotels and other tourism related offices in the town.

Rainy/Low Season
The rains also come twice a year between the months of March to Mid June and October to November. This time usually has very few people and those that want the area to themselves you are to use this timing. The grass it also green and its good for those who want to do photography. This doesn’t mean that this being a rainy season then its rains all day and all times.
Peak/Dry season
The season usually comes in the dry months of Mid June to September and December to February. The Longer period of June to September however also comes with the wildebeest migration and there for if this is your major interest then this is the perfect timing for you.
