Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Serengeti National Park
We shall pick you from your hotel in Arusha or from the airport and we drive to Serengeti National Park. On arrival at your lodge, you will have your lunch then head out for a late afternoon game drive to get acquainted with the vast wildlife in Serengeti. Welcome to Tanzania.
Day 2-3: Serengeti National Park game viewing experience
Serengeti National Park is the most popular national park in Tanzania renowned to the whole world by the annual occurrence of the Great Wildlife Migration. The park spans an area of about 5,700 square kilometers with different habitats that are homes to a very diverse animal and bird life.
You will spend these 2 days exploring the endless plains of the Serengeti. With luck, if you are in the park during the migration season, you will be able to catch the migrant’s river crossings at either Grumeti River in the Western sector or the Mara River in the Northern Sector of the park. While on the game drives, look out for famous Big 5; lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino among other animals like cheetahs, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, elands, gazelles, hippos, Nile crocodiles, jackals, bat eared fox, topi, antelopes, birds like the ostrich, eagles, vultures and flamingoes in season.
Optional activities in Serengeti include Hot air balloon safaris (advised to book in advance) and Maasai village visits. Dinner and overnight at your camp or lodge.
Day 4: Exit Serengeti for Zanzibar via Arusha
After your morning breakfast, you will check out and start your journey back to Arusha. Enjoy for one more time the wild game of Serengeti as you exit the park.
At the airport in Zanzibar, you will be welcomed by a representative from the resort hotel. They will drive you to the hotel. Welcome to Zanzibar. After unpacking and freshening up, feel free to enjoy the amenities of the beach resort or just lay back and relax as you take in the views of the white sand and the ocean. You have 2 full days to explore the beautiful archipelago. Dinner and overnight at you beach front resort / hotel.
Day 5-6: Zanzibar holiday
Wake up to the sound of the Indian Ocean waves. Have your breakfast and do as little or as much as you want. You decide on how to spend your Zanzibar beach holiday.
There is a lot you can do, from simple walks on the beach to going on a spice tour. Optional activities include snorkeling, diving tour and Jozani forest tour. Visits to Stone town and the former slave market with take you done the historical lane of Zanzibar.
Day 7: Flight back home or to your next tourist destination
Your 7-day safari and beach holiday has come to an end. You will drive to the airport in Zanzibar to take your flight back home.
