Detailed Serengeti Safari & Zanzibar Beach Holiday Itinerary
Day 1: Pick Up and Transfer to Serengeti National Park
You will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha or from the airport and driven to Serengeti National Park. On arrival at your lodge, you will have lunch and then go for a late afternoon game drive. This is a good time to get familiar with the wildlife of the park. Dinner and overnight will be at your camp or lodge.
Day 2 to 3: Serengeti National Park Game Viewing Experience
Serengeti National Park is the most visited national park in Tanzania and is known worldwide for the annual Great Wildlife Migration. The park covers a very large area and supports many animals and birds.
You will spend two full days exploring the wide plains of the Serengeti. If you visit during the migration season, you may see river crossings at the Grumeti River in the western part of the park or the Mara River in the northern area. During game drives, you may see the Big Five, which include lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos. Other wildlife includes cheetahs, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, elands, gazelles, hippos, crocodiles, jackals, bat-eared foxes, topis, antelopes, and birds such as ostriches, eagles, vultures, and flamingos during the right season.
Optional activities include hot air balloon safaris, which should be booked in advance, and visits to Maasai villages. Dinner and overnight will be at your camp or lodge.
Day 4: Exit Serengeti for Zanzibar via Arusha
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Arusha. Enjoy more wildlife viewing as you leave Serengeti National Park.
You will then fly to Zanzibar. On arrival, a hotel representative will meet you and transfer you to your beach resort. After checking in, you can relax and enjoy the hotel facilities, the beach, and the ocean views. Dinner and overnight will be at your beachfront resort or hotel.
Day 5 to 6: Zanzibar Holiday
Wake up to the sound of the ocean and enjoy your breakfast at the resort. These two days are free for you to relax or take part in optional activities.
You may choose to walk along the beach, join a spice tour, or go snorkeling or diving. Other options include a visit to Jozani Forest or a tour of Stone Town and the former slave market to learn about Zanzibar’s history.
Day 7: Flight Back Home or to Your Next Destination
