Detailed Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar Beach Holiday Itinerary
Day 1: Kilimanjaro to Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your safari guide will meet you and drive you to Arusha. Check in at your hotel, enjoy dinner, and rest for the night. Welcome to Tanzania.
Day 2: Arusha City Tour
After breakfast, your guide will take you on a city tour of Arusha. Optional activities include a guided walk or canoeing.
Return to the hotel for lunch, followed by a safari briefing. Spend the rest of the day at leisure and enjoy the hotel facilities.
Day 3: Arusha National Park
After breakfast, drive to Arusha National Park for your first wildlife experience. Enjoy a game drive through forest areas, lakes, and open spaces. Animals commonly seen include colobus monkeys, giraffes, blue monkeys, baboons, hippos, buffaloes, zebras, and many birds.
Optional activities include a walking safari, canoeing, a mountain bike tour, or a coffee plantation visit. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 4: In Arusha
This day is free for rest and adjustment. Optional activities include visiting a local market, a coffee plantation, mountain biking, or horse riding.
Day 5: Transfer to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park. The park is known for large herds of elephants. Other animals include lions, cheetahs, leopards, antelopes, gazelles, buffaloes, and many birds.
Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 6 to 8: Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park. You will spend three days on game drives across the wide plains of the park.
Serengeti is known for the Great Wildebeest Migration. During the migration season, you may see large herds moving across the park, and with luck, river crossings at the Grumeti River.
Animals often seen include lions, wildebeests, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, hyenas, black rhinos, jackals, zebras, antelopes, impalas, elands, dik-diks, servals, foxes, hippos, ostriches, eagles, vultures, secretary birds, and many smaller birds.
Optional activities include a Maasai community visit and a hot air balloon safari.
Day 9: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After an early breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a packed lunch. On arrival, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive on the crater floor.
The crater is home to about 30,000 animals, including lions, elephants, black rhinos, leopards, buffaloes, monkeys, baboons, hippos, wildebeests, jackals, cheetahs, hyenas, and many birds.
Enjoy lunch near the hippo pool. Later, ascend from the crater and continue game viewing around the crater area. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 10 to 14: Zanzibar Beach Holiday
After breakfast, transfer to Arusha Airport for your flight to Zanzibar. Spend the next four days relaxing by the beach.
Activities are optional and flexible. You may relax at the resort, walk along the beach, enjoy ocean views, or visit local markets.
Optional activities include a Stone Town tour, Jozani Forest visit, snorkeling, diving, and a spice tour.
Day 15: End of Safari
Depending on your flight schedule, your driver will transfer you to the airport in Zanzibar for your flight back home. This marks the end of your 15 Days Tanzania Wildlife Safari & Zanzibar Beach Holiday.
