Detailed Bwindi Gorilla Trekking & Tanzania Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Uganda
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your tour guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala. You will spend your first night in Uganda and prepare for the safari.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, depart Entebbe or Kampala and drive to southwestern Uganda. Along the way, you will pass local towns, villages, and markets. You will stop at the Equator line to stretch your legs and learn a few facts about the zero degree line.
Arrive in Bwindi in the evening. Check in at your safari lodge, enjoy dinner, and rest for the next day.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. After breakfast, your driver will take you to the park headquarters for a briefing by the rangers. You will then enter the forest to track a gorilla family.
The trek can take several hours depending on the location of the gorillas. Once you find them, you will spend one hour observing them. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch.
Later, you may visit the Batwa community for a cultural experience or choose to relax at the lodge.
Day 4: Flight to Arusha, Tanzania
Today you will travel to Tanzania. You may drive back to Entebbe for your flight or travel through Rwanda to depart from Kigali, depending on your arrangements.
On arrival in Arusha, a company representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for rest.
Day 5: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Arrive around lunchtime and enjoy a game drive in the park. Watch for tree climbing lions, as well as elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons, and other animals.
In the evening, drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 to 7: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Travel to Serengeti National Park, known for the Great Wildebeest Migration. You will enjoy game drives at different times of the day to see wildlife across the park.
On day seven, take part in an early morning game drive when animals are most active. Later, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy game viewing around the crater area before heading to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive and Departure
After an early breakfast, descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive on the crater floor. This drive lasts several hours and offers good chances to see many animals in one area.
After the game drive, ascend from the crater and drive back to Arusha. You will be dropped off at the airport for your flight home. This marks the end of your 8 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking & Tanzania Wildlife Safari Tour.
