Detailed Uganda Rwanda & Tanzania Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your tour guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala. Rest and prepare for the safari. Welcome to Uganda.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, drive to Kibale Forest National Park, known for chimpanzee trekking. The forest is home to many primate species, including chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, baboons, red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, and L’Hoest’s monkeys. You will also see many birds along the way. On arrival, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest and Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, drive to Kanyanchu for a briefing by park rangers before starting chimpanzee trekking. The trek can take between two and five hours. Once you find the chimpanzees, you will spend one hour watching them as the guide explains their behavior.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch. Later, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Start the day early with a game drive in the Kasenyi Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Animals commonly seen include lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, hippos, antelopes, warthogs, and many birds.
After the game drive, continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Lunch will be taken along the way. Arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge, enjoy dinner, and rest.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Visit
After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. Enter the forest to track mountain gorillas. Uganda is home to more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The trek may take between two and six hours. Once you find a gorilla family, you will spend one hour observing them.
After lunch, visit the Batwa community to learn about their culture and way of life. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda
After breakfast, check out and drive to Rwanda. Cross the border and continue to Volcanoes National Park. The journey takes about six hours with a lunch stop along the way. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Golden Monkey Tracking
After breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for a briefing on golden monkey tracking. Enter the forest with a ranger guide to look for these monkeys, which are often seen moving through bamboo areas. You will spend one hour observing them.
Later, you may visit nearby villages to learn about local traditions. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 8: Flight to Tanzania
Depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Tanzania. On arrival, meet your Tanzanian safari guide and drive to your hotel in Arusha. Rest and prepare for the next part of the safari.
Day 9: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park. Arrive in the afternoon, check in at your lodge, have lunch, and enjoy an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 10: Game Drives in Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Spend the day on game drives between Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You may see lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, hippos, jackals, hyenas, and many birds. If visiting during the migration season, you may see large herds of wildebeests.
Optional activities include hot air balloon safaris and Maasai community visits.
Day 11: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
After breakfast, descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive on the crater floor. The crater is home to about 30,000 animals, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, antelopes, and many birds.
After the game drive, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: End of Safari
After breakfast, enjoy a final game drive as you exit the park. Drive back to Arusha and transfer to the airport for your flight home. This marks the end of your 12 Days Uganda Rwanda Primate Trekking & Tanzania Wildlife Safari Holiday.
