Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International airport
Your driver will pick you from the airport and drive you to your hotel where you will spend the night. Check in, freshen up and rest up for tomorrow you start your ascent to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro. You will take on the Machame Route, the most scenic route on the mountain.
Day 2-7: Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro
Reaching the summit of the tallest mountain on the African continent is an accomplishment like no other. Several routes can be used to ascend Kilimanjaro mountain each with different views, success rates, and acclimatization opportunities. These routes include; Machame, Lemosho, Shira, Northern Circuit, Umbwe, Marangu and Rongai. Sleeping in camp tents at each camp.
Enjoy the different vegetation zones as you ascend the mountain like montane forests, moorland and alpine deserts and the magical views as you carry on, on your way to the summit. Once you make it to the summit, at Uhuru peak with a deep breath of satisfaction, savor the moment as you take in the incredible views and watch the sunrise over the mountain top.
Descend back to the foot of the mountain where your driver will be waiting for your triumph return to drive you to Arusha for diner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, you will drive to Lake Manyara national park starting your wild game adventure on this safari. You reach in time for a delicious lunch after which you will go on your first game drive in the wilderness of Tanzania.
Be sure to catch the famous tree climbing lions in Lake Manyara if luck is on your side among other many animals that inhabit the park including huge herds of elephants, baboons, hippos, giraffe, buffalo and flocks of pink flamingoes. Overnight and dinner at your safari lodge.
Day 9: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
Morning breakfast and a transfer to Serengeti national park through Karutu’s beautiful farmlands and the picturesque Ngorongoro conservation area. Arrive in Serengeti in the afternoon, have lunch then go on an afternoon game drive. Overnight and dinner back at your safari lodge.
Day 10: Game drives in Serengeti National Park
Whole day game viewing spree in the endless plains of Serengeti national park. We shall start with an early morning game drive right before sunrise to have a chance to see the nocturnal predators on a hunt or enjoying their night kill and get to watch other animals get their day started as the animals tend to be more active in the early hours of the day.
You will break off from the game drive to have lunch. After that, you will head back out for an afternoon game drive. Explore more of what Serengeti has to offer.
Day 11: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After your breakfast and with a packed lunch, you will be driven to Ngorongoro conservation area. The highlight of today is a game drive on the floor of the scenic Ngorongoro crater. This is the largest caldera in the world. It is home to 30,000 animals including the big five (lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, rhino), hippos, gazelles, antelopes, wildebeests and hundreds of birds.
Descend 600 meters down into the crater for a game viewing adventure like no other. You will ascend back up and enjoy a picnic lunch at the rim of the crater. Later explore the area around the crater for more wildlife sightings. Dinner and overnight back at your lodge.
Day 12: Drop off at the airport
Last day of your Tanzania safari. You will be driven to the airport in Arusha to catch your flight.
