Detailed Gorilla Trekking, Masai Mara & Serengeti Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Pick Up from Entebbe International Airport
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your safari guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala. Welcome to Uganda.
Day 2: Kampala City Tour
After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Kampala. Visit places such as the Old Kampala Mosque, Uganda Museum, and the Kabaka’s Palace. After the tour, return to your hotel for rest.
Day 3 to 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda. The journey takes about eight hours.
Bwindi is home to more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking can take between two and six hours, depending on where the gorillas are located. Once you find them, you will spend one hour observing them.
You will spend several nights in Bwindi. Optional activities include nature walks, village visits, and bird watching.
Day 6 to 7: Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda
Leave Bwindi and cross into Rwanda. Drive to your lodge near Volcanoes National Park. On these days, you will track golden monkeys in the forest. You will spend one hour watching them as they move through the bamboo areas while the ranger explains their behavior.
Day 8 to 9: Kigali City Tour and Leisure Time
Spend time in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. Enjoy a city tour with visits to the Genocide Memorial Centre, local markets, and craft shops. The rest of the time is free for rest and personal activities.
Day 10 to 12: Flight to Kenya and Masai Mara National Reserve
Fly from Kigali to Kenya. On arrival, your Kenyan safari guide will meet you and drive you to Masai Mara National Reserve. This reserve is known for the Great Wildlife Migration.
Enjoy game drives at different times of the day. Animals commonly seen include lions, elephants, hippos, zebras, cheetahs, leopards, and many birds. Welcome to Kenya.
Day 13 to 14: Transfer to Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater
Cross the Kenya and Tanzania border and continue to Serengeti National Park. Follow the migration route in northern Tanzania and enjoy game drives across the open plains.
Later, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. The crater is home to many animals and birds and is a special place for wildlife viewing.
Day 15: End of Safari
