Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Arusha
You will be picked up from Arusha airport or from your accommodation in Arusha and driven to Serengeti National Park. Approximately an 8-hour drive.
Upon arrival, you will check into your safari lodge / tented camp which will be your place of rest for the 3 nights in the wilderness. Embark on a welcome to the Serengeti game drive. Get introduced to the wide range of animal and bird species that call the park home. Return back to your accommodation facility for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2 and 3: Explore the Serengeti National Park
For these 2 days, you will spend them exploring and discovering the secrets of the Serengeti plains. Go on extensive game drives throughout the day with packed food for a scenic picnic lunch out in the wilderness.
Expect to see millions of wildebeests, zebras and other hooved animals like gazelles and antelopes matching in the same direction during great migration braving all obstacles like the crocodile infested Grumeti River with a mission to find fresh grazing grounds and water bodies. Other animals to spot include lions, leopards, hyenas, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, hippos and lots of different birds like the ostrich, African fish eagle, turacos, different vulture species, the secretary bird. Serengeti prides of a diverse bird-life.
Optional activities for these 2 days are hot air balloon safari and visit to the Masai Village.
Day 4: Departure
Last day of your safari. After breakfast, you will check out and embark on one last game drive as you exit the park. Be sure to take some last minute shots. Drop off in Arusha or at the airport.
