Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda
The company representative will pick you up from the airport and drive you to your hotel where you will spend the night. Settle in and prepare for the start of your 8-day safari in Rwanda and Tanzania.
Day 2: A Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Take a city tour of the beautiful, organized and clean city, Kigali. The tour guide will drive you to some key sites during the tour like the genocide memorial site, kimiroko market, craft shops and more.
Later on, after lunch, you will drive towards Volcanoes national park, check into your lodge and spend the rest of the evening at leisure.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Today you will come face to face with the mountain gorillas. Rwanda is one of the few places where you have the chance to see the apes in their natural environment. After a briefing at the parks’ head offices, you will carry on into the forest to track one of the habituated gorilla families. You will have an hour with them once you locate them. It is moment for you to cherish for a lifetime.
Back to the lodge for lunch and a relaxing time to reminisce about your experience with the gorillas or you can opt to visit one of the local villages living near the park for a cultural experience.
Day 4: Flight to Arusha in Tanzania
You will be driven to Kigali airport to catch a flight to your next destination, Tanzania. A representative from Tanzania will pick you from the airport in Arusha and take you to your hotel for a relaxing and rejuvenating day.
Day 5: Drive to Lake Manyara National Park
From your hotel in Arusha, have breakfast and then start your wilderness safari with a transfer to Lake Manyara national park. Arriving in the afternoon, you will embark on a game drive. Look out for the famous tree climbing lions in Lake Manyara, a rare sight to behold as it is uncommon for lions to be up in tree. Look out for other animals like the buffalo, giraffes, elephants, antelopes and more. Drive to your lodge for an overnight and dinner.
Day 6: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
A morning game drive in Lake Manyara. More wildlife viewings of what you might have missed out the previous day. Exit the park driving to the famous Serengeti plains. You will take on an afternoon game drive in Serengeti national park in the central region which teems with an abundance of wildlife. Great game viewing opportunities in the Seronera valley.
Retire to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Day 7: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Early morning game drive in the Serengeti pre sunrise to watch how the nature unfolds before your eyes. The sunrising lighting up the endless plains, the animals preparing to get on with their day, predators feasting on their night hunt. You will proceed to Ngorongoro conservation area for an afternoon game drive in the area around the crater rims. Enjoy the panoramic views of Ngorongoro. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Early morning rise and a quick breakfast before you drive to the crater rim. You will drive 600 meters into the famous unbroken caldera. An adventurous game drive at the floor of Ngorongoro crater. An abundant wildlife and rich environment await you.
After the game drive, you will ascend the crater. Drive back to Arusha where your driver will drop you at the airport for your flight back home.
