The Lake Ndutu airstrip is located within the Sinoni area in Tanzania. This airstrip has a run way with a distance of about 1.3 kilometers. The airstrip is located near the lake Ndutu which is in the south eastern part of the Serengeti national park and within a short distance with the eastern part of the Ngorongoro conservation area. The airstrip is enough to receive smaller aircrafts flying I from any part of Tanzania. The lake is located in the south eastern side of the Serengeti national park. This is within the vicinity of the Ngorongoro conservation area. This destination has been a favorite spot for tourism since the year 1960. It has attracted a lot of filmmakers, researchers in wildlife and documenters. Researchers like Jane Goodall and Hugo van Lawick used Ndutu as a headquarters for much of their research.

The lake has enough water and vegetation to attract a lot of animals and their predators to hunt them. There are a lot of bird species here as well. The lake is located I a bowl shaped ditch which has a complete ecosystem and this makes the animals come here and never leave. This makes the area a very good place for game viewing.

The lake is a shallow lake and it’s also an alkaline lake. It’s on the South eastern border of the Serengeti national park which is also in the vicinity of the Ngorongoro conservation area. The Lake shares the same basin with the Lake Masek. It is in the eastern side of the Ngorongoro conservation area.

The excavation research in 1973 on the shore of the lake Ndutu led to the discovery of cranium mineral ores. The archaeological research was looking to find the remains expected to have been here for over 500,000 years.
