Detailed Rwanda Gorilla & Tanzania Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda
On arrival at the airport, a company representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. You will spend the night in Kigali and prepare for the start of your 8-day safari in Rwanda and Tanzania.
Day 2: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Kigali. The tour includes visits to key places such as the Genocide Memorial Centre, Kimironko Market, and local craft shops.
After lunch, drive to Volcanoes National Park. On arrival, check in at your lodge and spend the rest of the evening relaxing.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Today is dedicated to mountain gorilla trekking. After an early briefing at the park headquarters, you will enter the forest with a ranger to track one of the habituated gorilla families. Once you find them, you will spend one hour observing the gorillas in their natural environment.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and rest. You may also choose to visit a nearby local village for a cultural experience. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
Day 4: Flight to Arusha in Tanzania
After breakfast, drive to Kigali Airport for your flight to Arusha, Tanzania. On arrival, a representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. The rest of the day is free for rest.
Day 5: Drive to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive to Lake Manyara National Park. On arrival, enjoy a game drive in the park. Watch for the famous tree climbing lions, as well as elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes, and other wildlife.
Later, drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
Start the day with a morning game drive in Lake Manyara to see animals you may have missed. Afterward, exit the park and drive to Serengeti National Park.
In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive in the central Serengeti area, especially around the Seronera Valley, which is known for good wildlife sightings. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge or camp.
Day 7: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Begin the day with an early morning game drive in Serengeti before sunrise. This is a good time to see animals as they start their day.
After the game drive, travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. In the afternoon, enjoy game viewing around the crater rim. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.
Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After an early breakfast, drive to the crater rim and descend about 600 meters into Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy a game drive on the crater floor, where many animals live.
After the game drive, ascend from the crater and drive back to Arusha. You will be dropped off at the airport for your flight home, marking the end of your 8 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Tanzania Wildlife Safari Tour.
